'Waverley', our premier room, looks out over Lamlash Bay to the dramatic landscape of the Holy Isle and the seascape of the Firth of Clyde beyond. The bay is Scotland's first 'no take' zone so is a delight for snorkel and SCUBA diving. At night, the colourful warning lights of local lighthouses (including 'Wee Donald' on Holy Isle) and those on the distant mainland can be seen winking their warning and the observant guest may spot the banks of porthole lights on passing passenger liners. We provide binoculars so you can get a better view!
The colour scheme of brilliant white and 'blackened' white combined with luxury bedlinen in crisp white or dramatic 'sea spray' damask creates a room which is both contemporary and in keeping with the seascape outside and the sloping ceilings and period dormer window of Waverley.
Recessed ceiling lighting above the bed, in addition to bedside table lamps, provides the nocturnal reader with excellent illumination or gives romantic mood lighting.
The super king bed is dressed with one goose and duck down feather pillow and one luxury synthetic fibre pillow per person to enable you to select the uppermost pillow to suit your personal comfort.
'Waverley' is the ideal choice to treat yourself and your partner. It offers hotel style comfort with Bed and Breakfast personal service.
A 26 inch flat screen, free view, digital TV is provided in 'Waverley' and of course free Wifi comes as standard.
Named in honour of the PS Waverley, Helen's favourite ship and the last remaining paddle steamer in the world, the artefacts in the room celebrate the ship's connection with Arran and the Clyde. The 'Waverley' can often be seen to sea from the 'Waverley' room, steaming past Carraig Mhor in Lamlash Bay late on Thursday afternoons in summer months as she cruises the shores of the Holy Isle.
'Waverley' room is in its own private corridor with an adjacent private shower room, giving it the same privacy and advantages as an en-suite room. Soft, fluffy, white bath sheets, face towels and flannels are provided together with a dark towel for those with tinted hair or who prefer a more invigorating drying towel.
Waverley may also be booked as a twin-bedded room. Please advise us at the time of booking if you require this option.
