The name 'Carraig Mhor' has long been linked, in the minds of many locals and visitors, with excellence in food. It was, for many years, a well-known and popular restaurant owned by Peter and Penny Albrich and renowned as one of the foremost on the island for excellent food. Carraig Mhor returned to a private house until Helen and Andy bought it in 2014. Of course, unlike Peter, we are not culinary advisors on the QE2 but we hope, (in some small way), to maintain the Carraig Mhor tradition of serving good food using fresh, local produce from Arran and from our own garden. Home cooking and 'house' breakfast specials feature on our breakfast menu and we offer some 'Carraig Mhor' traditional recipes.
We invite guests to make their selection of main course in advance from our Breakfast Selector as some of our dishes require advance preparation. We cook to order. (Please be sure to let us know if you have a ferry to catch!). You will have plenty of time to enjoy the aroma of newly-baked bread and freshly ground coffee and to gaze out of the window at the ever-changing, sea view.
We believe 'vegetarians/vegans should have fun too'! So our vegetarian options have been compiled with care and thought.

Carraig Mhor has several excellent eating places within a few minutes easy walking distance. Many of these places are popular and booking to eat food is essential in busy periods.(subject to availability).
The Glenisle offers food throughout the day. The walled garden is also an option on warm days.
The Pier Head Tavern offers bar food and regularly features an ecclectic mix of live music.
There is an Indian Takeaway and a shop offering take-away sandwiches and pies during the day at the south side of the village.
There are also two tea rooms near Carraig Mhor.
